WA0WOF — My first operation on the ham bands was on Okinawa, from 1969-1972, with the call KR6HB. DXing was soon a passion, which has continued to this day. I briefly held the call KA6HB, when Okinawa reverted to Japan, in May, 1972, until our return to the states in July, 1972. Since that time, I have held onto my original call, WA0WOF, and have also held EI7HQ for over 20 years. I have operated from several countries, and the last one was 9M4SEA, from Kuala Lumpur, in November, 2012.
I enjoy all ham radio meetings, and have attended Ham Radio in Friedrichshafen, Germany, twice; SEANET meetings in Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur, and YL worldwide meetings in Kauai; Stockholm; Osaka; Berlin; Hamilton, New Zealand; Palermo, Sicily; and Oslo, as well as several stateside meetings. I will attend the SYLRA meeting in Denmark, right after this operation, and I always try to make Dayton every year.
